Soyuzmultfilm is an animated film studio. It was founded in Moscow on June 10 of 1936. Over the course of its history, the studio has produced more than 1,500 animated films in a wide variety of genres and artistic styles; many of the films have become part of the “golden fund” of world animation classics and have received more than 400 prizes and awards at international festivals.
The animated series Prostokvashino has been in production since 2018 and it is a sequel to the classic series of animated films based on the works by writer Eduard Uspensky. The story follows the hilarious adventures of the very serious and self-sufficient boy Uncle Fyodor, his younger sister Vera Pavlovna - who is never apart from her quirky little animal Tama-Tama - and their furry friends: the housewifely cat Matroskin and the simple-minded dog Sharik.
The animated series Umka (2022–2025) is a continuation of the classic story, in which the now-grown boy named Taike tells children the legends of the Arctic. Umka, his mother the bear, and his friends - the she-wolf Ilma, the seal Kora, and the seagull Pychik - explore the North, learn to be friends, and protect nature.
The animated series Champions (2024–2025) is a project inspired by the classic cartoon Puck, Puck!. The story follows the rivalry between the Blue Pennants and the Red Meteors teams in various sports.
The postage stamps feature characters from animated films Prostokvashino, Umka, and Champions produced by JSC Soyuzmultfilm Film Studio.
