The Berlin Offensive Operation (April 16 – May 8, 1945) was a terminative stage of the Great Patriotic War; in the course of the operation, Soviet troops defeated more than 500,000 enemy grouping and took by assault the German capital, Berlin.
The stamp provides an image of a bas-relief with a group of Soviet soldiers participating in the Berlin offensive operation with a banner for planting on top the Reichstag building.
