There were written in the first rules for the military order named by Saint George the Winner: "It is acquired only at the battlefield, during defense of fortresses and in marine battles. It is bestowed only to those from the lower military ranks, who, serving in land and naval Russian forces, really showed their extraordinary brevity in the struggle with enemies." The first knight of the order became a corporal of a Kavalergard regiment Egor Ivanovich Mitjukhin for the battle at Fridland on the 2nd of June, 1807. A medal ribbon of an order of Saint George the Martyr and Winner, trampling down the dragon and a warrior or the patriotic war of 1812 period are depicted on the margins of the block.
