The stamp features the picture of Ivan Lazarev (1735-1801) against Lazarev institute of oriental languages in Moscow (architects I.M.Podiyachev and T.G.Prostakov). I.Lazarev (Ovanes Lazarevich Lazaryan) was a count, Councillor of State. He belonged to an Armenian nobiliary family. He figured in the development and strengthening the familiarity between the Armenians and the Russians. In 1815 an Armenian school was founded in Moscow on the Lazarevs' funds. In 1827 it was transformed into Lazarev institute of oriental languages. Since 1919 - Armenian institute, since 1921 up to 1954 - Moscow institute of orientalism. On the right side of the stamp there are the avers and the revers of the silver medal, which was handed to those successfully graduated from the institute. On the avers of the medal there are pictures of the brothers Lazarevs - Ivan and Ioakim.
