On June 18, a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the International Federation of Philately was put into postal circulation

The International Federation of Philately (French: Fédération internationale de philatélie, abbreviated FIP) is the most representative international association of philatelists, founded in 1926. Initially, it united the national philatelic federations of several European countries. Late in May of 1967, the 36th FIP Congress, which was held in Amsterdam, unanimously accepted the All-Union Society of Philatelists as a member of the Federation. The Union of Philatelists of Russia has been a member of the Federation since 1993. By 1987, the organization had about 60 national associations of philatelists; ten years later, it numbered organizations from 75 countries. In 2010, the FIP united national philatelic unions from 87 countries, as well as 3 continental federations as an associate member. Today, the organization includes representatives from 95 countries around the world. The official languages of the FIP are English, Spanish, German, Russian, and French.

The supreme body of the FIP is the Congress, which meets annually in the capitals or major cities of the Federation’s member states. The Congresses review the reports on the activities of the Board and individual commissions, address issues of organizing world and international exhibitions and determine their regulations; make amendments to the Charter, etc. During the period between FIP Congresses, the organization is governed by a Board elected for a four-year term. To coordinate day-to-day activities of the FIP, a Secretariat has been established with its legal seat being determined by the FIP Congress. As of today, the Secretariat is located in Zurich, Switzerland.

The fundamental objectives of the FIP include: to promote philately worldwide; to establish and develop friendly relations and cooperation between philatelists from different countries to strengthen peace and friendship between peoples; to develop regulations for various fields of philatelic activity; to establish relations with postal administrations as well as with national and international organizations that are interested in the development of philately; to provide support for events organized by members of the Federation that promote the development of philately, including international exhibitions.

Every year, world and international philatelic exhibitions are arranged under the sponsorship of the FIP. International philatelic exhibitions organized under the auspices of the FIP have been held since 1927. In Russia, the first World Philatelic Exhibition took place in Moscow in 1997.

The postage stamp provides an image of the emblem of the International Federation of Philately.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced a First Day Cover and special cancels for Moscow and Orenburg.
