On July 17, a souvenir sheet dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Ingushetia was put into postal circulation



The Republic of Ingushetia is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation. It is part of the North Caucasus Federal District. The capital is the city of Magas. The population as of January 1, 2023, was 519,1.

In November of 1924, the Ingush Autonomous Oblast was established as part of the RSFSR. On January 15, 1934, the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Oblast was formed, which in 1936 became the Chechen-Ingush ASSR.

In 1944, the greater part of Ingushetia became part of the North Ossetia ASSR. In 1957, the Presidiums of the Supreme Soviets of the USSR and the RSFSR adopted decrees on the restoration of the autonomies of the deported peoples, and the Chechen-Ingush ASSR was restored.

On June 4 of 1992, the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation adopted the Law On the Establishment of the Ingush Republic within the Russian Federation.

Today, Ingushetia is an agro-industrial republic. The most developed branches of industry in the Republic are oil extracting, petrochemical, chemical, gas processing and metal processing industries. The oil-industrial complex accounts for more than 74.6% of the industrial production output.

Tourism is one of the overriding and strategic directions of socio-economic development of the Region. The calling card of the Republic of Ingushetia is considered to be ancient tower complexes, which are mostly located in mountainous areas. With the view of their protection, the Dzheyrakh-Assinsky Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve, covering the area of more than 65 thousand hectares, was established.

The margins of the souvenir sheet feature the coat of arms of the Republic of Ingushetia, complex of buildings of the Administration of the Head and the Government of the Republic of Ingushetia, the Tower of Concord, the medieval complex of Ingush defense and watchtowers Vovnushki, the ancient Christian Church of Tkhaba-Yerdy, the Armkhi resort complex, the Cathedral Mosque of the city of Magas, the plane monument to S. Oskanov - the first Hero of the Russian Federation, the Myat-Loam Mountain, an eagle and an ethnical ornament of the national carpet. The stamp provides the inscription “100 Years. Republic of Ingushetia”.

In addition to the issue of the souvenir sheet, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and Magas.
