The Republic of Ingushetia is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation. It is part of the North Caucasus Federal District. The capital is the city of Magas. The population as of January 1, 2023 was 519,100.
The most developed branches of industry in the Republic are oil extracting, petrochemical, chemical, gas processing and metal processing industries.
Tourism is one of the overriding and strategic directions of socio-economic development of the Region. The calling card of the Republic of Ingushetia is considered to be ancient tower complexes, which are mostly located in mountainous areas. With the view of their protection, the Dzheyrakh-Assinsky Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve, covering the area of more than 65 thousand hectares, was established.
