On May 29, a stamp dedicated to the Eurasian Economic Union was put into postal circulation



May 29 is celebrated annually as the Day of the Eurasian Economic Union. This decision was taken by the leaders of the EAEU countries at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which was held in Bishkek in May 2022.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is an international organization of regional economic integration with the international legal personality established by the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union signed on May 29, 2014, in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan. The EAEU provides for free movement of goods, services, capital and labor, and also pursues coordinated, harmonized and single policy in branches of economy. The EAEU was created to comprehensively upgrade, raise the competitiveness of and cooperation between the national economies, and to promote conditions for stable development in order to raise the living standards of the nations of the Member-States.

Russia has been chairing in the Eurasian Economic Union since January 1 of 2023. The priorities of the Russian chairmanship of the EAEU for 2023 were defined by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The postage stamp provides an image of the logo of the Eurasian Economic Union; in a circle, there are arranged flags of the participating countries: the Russian Federation, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz Republic.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
