On November 17, a stamp dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Community Policemen Service was put into postal circulation

On November 17, 1923, the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the RSFSR approved the Instruction to the District Supervisor. This regulatory legal document laid the foundation for the formation of the institution of district militia officers in the Russian law enforcement forces. The modern name – a community policeman - appeared in 2011, after the reformation of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation

Today, the Community Policemen Service occupies a central place in the system of internal affairs bodies.

The directions of community policeman activities when on duty on the administrative area are the protection of a person, the society and the state from unlawful encroachments; prevention and suppression of crimes and administrative offences; detection and disclosure of crimes; proceedings on cases of administrative offences.

At present, there are more than 48,000 community policemen in the internal affairs agencies of the Russian Federation. They work round the clock with the population in the territories under their jurisdiction; they are the first to come to the aid to people in time of need and are engaged in the prevention of domestic violence, child neglect, alcoholism and drug addiction.

The postage stamp provides an image of a community policeman and a young family in a cityscape.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and St. Petersburg.
