On July 20, a postage stamp dedicated to the 150th Anniversary of the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant was put into postal circulation

The Bryansk Machine-Building Plant (BMZ) was founded on July 20, 1873. It was then that the permission for the establishment of the Joint-Stock Company of the Bryansk Rail-Rolling, Iron-Working and Mechanical Plant was signed and its charter was approved. The founders of the Company were P. Gubonin and V. Golubev. Later on, they were joined by V. Tenishev and V. Krakht.

The plant building works began with the construction of an iron foundry and a machine shop, then a rolling workshop was built, and a year later, on July 20, 1874, the first rails were manufactured. With the view of producing rail fastenings, a special workshop with a forge was built, and then a workshop for the production of metal bridges, water supply equipment and railroads.

Today, the BMZ is the leader of transport machine building; it is a part of JSC Transmashholding and holds leading positions in its industry. The BMZ has arranged exclusive to Russia large-scale production of mainline freight and shunting locomotives. The plant also produces spare parts for railway transport.

The postage stamp provides an image of the TEM23 diesel locomotive against the background of the historic building of the Bryansk Machine-Building Plant.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and Bryansk, as well as an illustrated cover with postage stamps, a label and a First Day Cover with a cancel for Bryansk inside.
