On June 15, a postage stamp dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Aeroflot Airlines was put into postal circulation

The history of the company began in 1923, when application for shares of the Dobrolyot Russian Voluntary Air Fleet Society was invited on March 17. On July 15, 1923, the USSR’s first regular 420 km long passenger airline Moscow - Nizhniy Novgorod was opened. In 1932, the abbreviated name Aeroflot was given to the USSR civil air fleet.

During the Great Patriotic War, training squadrons were organized in 1941 in territorial departments of civil aviation, which trained pilots for the Red Army Air Force. The civil aviation personnel made a worthy contribution to the victory over the enemy. Six frontline units were transformed into guard units, 10 were decorated with orders, and 12 received honorary titles.

Today Aeroflot - Russian Airlines is a Russian public-private air company operating domestic and international flights. Combined with its subsidiaries Rossiya and Pobeda, it forms the “Aeroflot” Group, an aviation holding company, which is among the world's top 20 airlines in terms of passenger traffic.

The postage stamp provides a symbolic image of a flight hostess against the background of a flying plane; the margins of the stamp sheet feature the logo of Aeroflot Airlines.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and St. Petersburg.
