Valery Kharlamov (1948-1981) was a Soviet ice hockey player, a forward of the CSKA team (1967-1981) and the USSR national team (1969-1980), a Merited Master of Sports of the USSR (1969). He was a two-time Olympic champion (1972, 1976) and eight-time World champion. Kharlamov was the Top Hockey Player of the USSR (1972, 1973) and one of the leading hockey players of the USSR in the 1970s, recognized both in this country and abroad.
