Georgy Mikhailovich Vitsin (1917–2001) was an outstanding Soviet and Russian actor. He was a People’s Artist of the USSR (1990).
He enrolled into the Vakhtangov Moscow Theater College. He moved to the Moscow Artistic Academic Theater II studio. He was an actor in the Yermolova Theater led by Nikolai Khmelyov.
Georgy Vitsin won fame after the Backup Player, in which he played Vasya Vesnushkin. The actor also starred in Barbos the Dog and an Unusual Cross-Country Race (1954), Bootleggers (1962), Operation Y and Other Adventures of Shurik (1965), Kidnapping, Caucasian Style (1967), Businessmen (1962), Balzaminov's Marriage (1964), Twelfth Night (1955), Gentlemen of Fortune (1971) and The Old, Old Story (1968). Vitsin had a talent for recital and voiced a lot of cartoons. He was also an excellent painter, making travesties, trying sculpture, graphics and painting.
