Today, there are several companies in Russia engaged in the production of tramcars: the Ust-Katav Car-Building Plant (UKVZ), PC Transport Systems, and the Ural Plant of Transport Machine Building (Uraltransmash).
The tram cars that the Uraltransmash plant has been manufacturing for 20 years are duly appreciated by passengers and the electric transport staff in different Russian cities. A tramcar of model 71-418 is a three-section fully low-floor car, completely equipped with assemblies of Russian production.
Tramcar traffic in Yekaterinburg was opened on November 7, 1929.
The Yekaterinburg tramway service has 17 terminal stations, 3 tramway bays, a developed route network (31 routes), and 455 passenger cars in operation.
The postage stamp provides image of a modern tramcar of model 71-418 (JSC Uraltransmash) against the background of Yekaterinburg sights.
