Volleyball is a sport discipline, a team sports game, which consists in two teams competing on a special court divided by a net, trying to direct the ball to the opponent's side in such a way that it lands on the opponent’s ground or the defending player makes a mistake.
The official date of birth of Russian volleyball is considered July 28, 1923, when a friendly match between volleyball players of the Higher Art and Theatre Workshops and the State School of Cinematography took place in Moscow.
In 1991, the All-Russian Volleyball Federation was formed, and since 1992, it has been the legal successor of the USSR Federation in all international sports associations.
