In the left part there is "Ball at Prince Baryatinky's" (by G.G.Gagarin, early 1830s, aquarelle). In the right part there is "A lunch at A.F.Smirdin's, a publisher" (by A.P.Briullov, 1833, sepia). In the upper margin the text reads "The 200th Birth Anniversary of A.S.Pushkin", in the lower margin there is a quote from Pushkin "In centuries to come I shall be loved by the people / For having awakened noble thoughts with my lyre…" (1836).
