The monument of Fallen Defenders of the Motherland was installed on the 561st kilometer of the Neva Federal Highway in the Novgorod Region as part of the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In the process of preparation to commissioning the route between St. Petersburg and Moscow, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Avtodor SC State Company took a decision that it must have its memorable sites. The monument perpetuated the feat of the Red Army soldiers who fought around here during the Great Patriotic War. The 3-m high monument made as a figure of a defender warrior was designed by a creative team of the M.B. Grekov Studio of Military Artists.
