The Battle of Grengam took place in the course of the Northern War on July 27 (August 7) of 1720 in the Baltic Sea.
The result of the Battle of Grengam was the end of the unchallenged Swedish supremacy in the Baltic Sea and coming of Russia into ascendance in the region. The Battle was the final great naval battle of the Northern War, which advanced signing of the Nystadt Peace Treaty.
