Federal Communications Agency (Rossvyaz) is a federal body of executive power that manages state property and renders public services in the field of telecommunication and postal communication including creating, developing and using communication networks, satellite communication systems, television and radio broadcasting systems, as well as supervising issuance and distribution of state signs of postal payment.
The agency was founded on 9 March 2004 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On System and Structure of the Federal Bodies of Executive Power”.
Currently, Rossvyaz supervises 6 federal state unitary enterprises, JSC Marka and JSC Electrosvyaz in the Chechen Republic, 4 higher education institutions and the Popov Central Museum of Communications.
