Pavel Batov (1897–1985) was a Soviet military commander, twice Hero of the Soviet Union (1943, 1945), Army General (1955).

Pavel Batov met the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War in the Crimea. The Army under Batov's command participated in the Battle of Stalingrad, the Kalinkovichi-Mozyr operation and Operation Bagration, and later on, in the Vistula-Oder, Mlavsko-Elbing, East Prussian, East Pomeranian and Berlin offensive operations. For combat proficiency and skillful generalship of the army in many operations, Pavel Batov was awarded the First Class Order of Suvorov, the Order of Lenin, the Order of Kutuzov and twice granted the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

In 1950, Pavel Batov graduated from the Higher Academic Courses of the Voroshilov Military Academy. Since June of 1954, Colonel General Batov was the Principal Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany. In March of the next year, he was promoted to the rank of Army General and appointed to command the troops of the Subcarpathian Military District. In 1970-1981, Army General Pavel Batov headed the Soviet War Veterans Committee.
