The Immortal Regiment is an international social civic-and-patriotic movement to commemorate the Great Patriotic War generation. The Immortal Regiment history started in 2007 in Tyumen. On the Victory Day, the Chairman of the Board of Police Veterans Gennady Ivanov walked with a photo of his father with friends along the main street of Tyumen. Next year, hundreds of citizens followed their lead. The event was named Parade of Winners. Two years later such parades were held in more than 20 regions.

The movement in its current form was initiated by journalists S. Lapenkov, S. Kolotovkin and I. Dmitriev and received the name of Immortal Regiment in Tomsk in 2012. In 2013, the Immortal Regiment march was for the first time carried out in Moscow on the Poklonnaya Gora. In 2015, Moscow organizers suggested to hold the Immortal Regiment march on the Red Square. The action is gaining ground and national love. In 2019, more than 10 million people all through this country participated in the march. The task of the Immortal Regiment movement is to memorize the feat of the Great Patriotic War soldiers, to reflect on the heroic experience of ancestors, to reintegrate the continuity of generations, and recover the feeling of belonging of a person and his/her family to the history of the Homeland.

The envelope with a commemorative stamp provides an image of the symbol of celebration of the 75 anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945; the central image is a logo of patriotic organization Immortal Regiment — Moscow, a St.George's Ribbon and a festive march of the movement.
