On October 19, four postage stamps dedicated to buildings of diplomatic missions of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs were put into postal circulation

Given its geopolitical position and owing to the successes of tsarist and Soviet diplomacy, Russia has one of the largest networks of foreign diplomatic missions. Russian Embassies and Consulates are active in virtually every country in the world, with the exception of some microstates of Europe, some states of Central and Southern Africa, Central America, Bhutan, and most countries of Oceania.

The Russian Embassy in Switzerland is located in Bern in a mansion on Brunnadernrain Street, built in 1911 to a design by A. Gerster in the Bernese Baroque style.

The Russian Embassy in Slovakia is located in Bratislava in a building constructed in 1915 to a design by architect M. Harminec. The building is included in the Famous Villas of Slovakia collection.

The Residence of the Russian Ambassador to the USA is located in Washington in a mansion on 16th Street, built to a design by architects N. Wyeth and F. Sullivan. Prior to 1994, the building housed the Embassy of the USSR and Russia in the USA.

The postage stamps feature the buildings of the Russian Embassies in Switzerland and Slovakia, and the Residence of the Russian Ambassador to the USA.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and a special cancel for Moscow.
