The event was attended by Sergey Boyarsky, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Technologies and Communications; Igor Maksimtsev, the Rector of Saint Petersburg State University of Economics; and Veronika Maksimenkova, the Director General of Joint-Stock Company Marka.
The postage stamps provide images of Bank Bridge, Egyptian Bridge, Lion Bridge and the Second Engineer’s Bridge. All these bridges are well-known landmarks of Russia's cultural capital, Saint Petersburg, and each architectural structure has its own unique history that reflects the style and spirit of a historical era. Such philatelic issues combine the preservation of historical memory and the cultural heritage of Saint Petersburg.
The postage stamps were put into postal circulation in the Architectural Structures. Bridges series in the quantity of 15 thousand copies. In the frames of this issue, the augmented reality technology was applied to the postage stamps, which offers a video that reveals the beauty of the city's bridges and how their stone "arteries" link the left and right banks of the city.
