On September 11, a postage stamp dedicated to the 200th Anniversary of the Proletarsky Zavod (Proletarian Plant) was put into postal circulation

 

PJSC Proletarsky Zavod is one of the largest industrial enterprises in St. Petersburg, founded in 1826. From the very first days of its operation, the plant has become one of the most powerful multidisciplinary machine-building enterprises in the Northern Capital, which for many years has specialized mainly in marine and power engineering. The plant repeatedly changed the profile of its activities: it produced industrial equipment, participated in the creation of architectural monuments of the Northern Capital, set afloat the first domestic steamships and built the early Russian steam locomotives.

The plant's specialists achieve high results in the creation of marine mechanisms, systems and complexes, which in a number of cases have no analogues in domestic practice. The enterprise's products are supplied for military and civilian vessels, including aircraft-carrying cruisers, nuclear submarine missile carriers and supertankers.

Besides, of significance is the contribution of the Proletarsky Zavod to the development of large- and small-scale energy engineering of the Russian Federation. It is engaged in developing and manufacturing various pumping equipment for thermal power plants, GRES, CCGT plants, nuclear power plants and the oil industry, gas- and steam-turbine generators, and transportable gas-turbine power plants.

The postage stamp provides an image of a gas-turbine generator in production by the Plant, with the 19th-century building of the Plant in the background.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow and St. Petersburg.
