On July 31, a postage stamp dedicated to the electric buses of the Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise was put into postal circulation

Since 2018, a new type of ground-based urban transport - the electric bus - has been in operation in Moscow. It is a trackless, electrically powered public transportation vehicle designed to carry passengers along established routes on public roads. The electrical energy required to power an electric bus can either be supplied continuously from an external source, for example, via overhead wires, as in the case of a trolleybus; it can be generated on board, for example, by fuel cells, or be stored on board in a storage facility.

This innovative kind of transportation is eco-friendly, maneuverable, safe, provided with low-floor, and equipped with climate-control. It is not tied to an overhead power line—it is charged at terminal stops and in depots. The electric bus also features adaptive lighting that changes color depending on the time of day, a storage area with spaces for bicycles and prams, USB and Type-C ports for charging devices, touch-sensitive stop-request buttons with protection against accidental activation, media screens displaying useful route information, driver-call buttons near seats designated for passengers with limited mobility; a folding ramp; air vents above the doors help maintain a constant interior temperature even when the doors are open; memory-equipped destination-selection door-opening buttons detect when pressed outside a stop and open the door upon arrival; the electric interior heater in the new models reduces environmental impact.

Currently, more than 2,400 electric buses owned by the Mosgortrans state unitary enterprise are in passenger service. In June of 2025, a new generation of KAMAZ-52222 electric buses took the routes #384 and #384k.
