Open All-Russian thematic competition to design drafts of a postage stamp and greeting cards themed Happy New Year! is launched

JSC Marka with the assistance of the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Union of Philatelists of Russia announce the Open All-Russian competition for drawing drafts of a postage stamp and greeting cards themed Happy New Year!. The goals and objectives of the Project are enhancing the interest for stamp collection as well as popularization of the genre of the author's artistic miniature executed both in traditional “manual” techniques (author’s graphic works, limited edition graphics, collage, etc.) and with digital technologies; extending the tradition of the author’s artistic stamp and bringing new authors to the genre.

New Year is one of the most magic and the most long-desired holidays for children and adults. People prepare gifts and congratulations for each other. In our country, as well as all over the world, it is a popular hobby to send New Year greetings by mail. How nice it is to receive an envelope with a message with a bright, festive, eye-catching stamp glued on it, which can beautify the collection of any philatelist, and for someone, perhaps, it will be the beginning of a new hobby.

To participate in the Competition, a submitter of the application needs to design an interesting, bright, eye-catching sketch of a postage stamp or author’s card dedicated to the New Year in any of the techniques: painting, author’s or computer graphics, collage, and others.

! Works created by neural networks and other applications for producing artificial images with the use of software algorithms without skills of authorship will be rejected.

The organizers will appreciate participation of citizens of the Russian Federation aged 18 and older: professional painters and designers, students and graduates of creative universities, and non-professional artists. Participation is free of charge.

Online applications for participation in the Competition will be accepted from June 19 until 23:59 (Moscow time) of August 19, 2026.

The Competition results will be announced on September 4 of 2026.

Agreements will be concluded with the winners of the Competition and fees are to be paid. The best works will be selected for issuance of a postage stamp and five greeting cards.
