The event was held and organized conjointly with the initiative group for the Construction of a Spiritual and Historical complex in honor of Holy Righteous Warrior Fyodor Ushakov in Levoberezhny (Moscow) and with the assistance of Nikas Safronov, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, a member of the Russian Academy of Arts, a Professor of the Department of Drawing and Painting of the A. Kosygin Russian State University, the Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Art at Ulyanovsk State University. The Competition is dedicated to the Day of Children and Parental Happiness, which is annually celebrated in Russia on June 1.
The Competition is aimed at strengthening civic and patriotic values and fostering interest among children and adolescents in the history and traditions of Russia's naval glory, as well as promoting the country's historical heritage and forming respect for the defenders of the Fatherland.
The Competition received 4,368 applications from 80 regions of the Russian Federation. Participants competed in three age groups: from 7 to 9 years old, from 10 to 12 years old, and from 13 to 15 years old. The jury selected 250 finalists, of whom 12 laureates were selected in each category, including the Grand Prix winner.
The Grand Prix winner of the Competition is 15-y.o. Sorokina Sofia (Moscow) with her drawing P.S. Nakhimov. The first defense of Sevastopol. Sinking of ships. Based on her drawing, JSC Marka will produce a postcard.
