The participants in the ceremony were Alexander Poshivai, a Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation; Andrey Tarasenko, the Head of the Federal Agency for Maritime and River Transport; and Sergey Sokolov, the Rector of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.
The history of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping dates back to May 7 of 1876. Today, the University is a higher technical educational institution whose educational activities are focused on training highly qualified personnel for Russia’s transportation infrastructure. The University provides higher and secondary vocational education for more than 20,000 students and cadets. The institution has highly qualified academic staff. International scientific and educational activities are being developed. Faculty members, cadets, and students participate in organizing and conducting international and national conferences and seminars on issues related to the maritime industry, education and science.
