Competition for artists to design a souvenir sheet and authorial postcards themed The Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia is launched

Russia is a multinational country. Representatives of more than 190 peoples who preserve their identity, language, culture and traditions live on its territory. By decision of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin (Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 962 of December 25, 2025), the year of 2026 has been declared the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.

State indicia are a kind of calling cards of the country that reach the most remote corners of the world; they easily get through state boundaries telling the people of the planet about Russia in a special expressive language.

JSC Marka with the assistance of the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Union of Philatelists of Russia announce the annual Open All-Russian thematic competition for drawing sketches of a souvenir sheet and postcards themed The Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The goals and objectives of the Project are increasing the interest for stamp collection as well as popularization of the genre of the authorial artistic miniature executed both in traditional “manual” techniques (author’s graphic works, limited edition graphics, collage, etc.) and with digital technologies; extending the tradition of the authorial artistic stamp and bringing new authors to the genre.

To participate in the Competition, a submitter of the application needs to design an interesting, bright, eye-catching sketch of a souvenir sheet or authorial postcard dedicated to the unity of the peoples of Russia in any of the techniques: painting, author’s or computer graphics, collage, and others.

The organizers will appreciate participation in the Competition of citizens of the Russian Federation aged 18 and older: professional painters and designers, students and graduates of creative universities, and non-professional artists. Participation is free of charge.

Online applications for participation in the Competition will be accepted from April 22 until 23:59 (Moscow time) of May 31, 2026. Please, fill out the electronic application form available here.

The Competition results will be announced on June 10, 2026. The best works will be selected for issuance of a souvenir sheet and five postcards.
