On April 18, a postage stamp dedicated to politician V. Zhirinovsky was put into postal circulation



Vladimir Zhirinovsky (1946–2022) was the founder and the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). He was a member of the LDPR faction in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, a member of the State Council, the Head of the LDPR Supreme Council.

V. Zhirinovsky was born on April 25 of 1946, in Almaty (Kazakhstan). He graduated with honors from the Institute of Oriental Languages (in later years, the Institute of Asian and African Studies) under Moscow State University with a degree in Turkey and the Turkish Language, and from the evening division of the Faculty of Law at Moscow State University with majoring in Jurisprudence. V. Zhirinovsky was a Doctor of Philosophy, an Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation, a Professor of International Law and a Professor at the Faculty of Sociology of Moscow State University, an Honorary Professor of the Moscow University of Finance and Law, an Honorary Doctor of the Moscow State Linguistic University, a Full Member of the International Academy of Informatization, an Honorary Academician of the Academy of Natural Sciences, an Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences, a Professor at Moscow State Open University. Since March 31 of 1990, he was Chairman of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia. He was the LDPR’s candidate for President of the RSFSR in 1991 and for President of the Russian Federation in the 1996, 2000, 2008, 2012, and 2018 elections. V. Zhirinovsky participated in the work of the 1993 Constitutional Meeting on the preparation of the draft Constitution of the Russian Federation. He was elected a member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth sessions. He was the LDPR faction leader.

V. Zhirinovsky is the author of more than 500 books, including 100 volumes of his works entitled Political Classics. He was proficient in the English, French, German and Turkish languages.

The postage stamp provides a portrait of the politician and the founder of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia V. Zhirinovsky (1946–2022) against the building of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
