On April 9, a ceremony took place of special cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to the achievements of the Russian space science and holding of the Space Week in Russia, commemorating the 65th Anniversary of the first human spaceflight

The event was attended by Dmitry Bakanov, Director General of the Roscosmos State Corporation, and Aleksandr Stuglev, Chairman of the Management Board and the Director of the Roscongress Foundation.

On December 29 of 2025, President of the Russian Federation V. Putin signed Decree No. 995 On Holding Space Week in the Russian Federation that established a new annual nationwide event aimed at promoting the achievements of domestic space exploration and enhanced the prestige of professions related to space activities. In 2026, the Space Week is devoted to the 65th Anniversary of the first human spaceflight, carried out by Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

The postage stamp provides a symbolic image of a cosmonaut gazing at a star cluster through the porthole of a spaceship. The Design Artist is Sergei Ulyanovsky. The Print Run of the postage stamp is 168 thousand copies.

On April 9 of 2026, the postage stamps went on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain.
