The event was attended by Sergey Naryshkin, the Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation, and Maksut Shadaev, the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.
In the frames of the series On the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, six postage stamps dedicated to heroes of intelligence service J. Grigulevich, A. Korotkov, V. Lyagin, N. Prokopyuk, N. Troyan and P. Fitin were put into postal circulation. The postage stamps feature portraits of the intelligence officers. The Print Run of the stamps is 15 thousand each.
The Scientific and Technical Intelligence is one of the priority areas of activities for the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation. The postage stamp provides a stylized symbol of an atom; inside its orbits, there are schematic images of a warship, a fighter jet, an artificial Earth satellite, a nuclear power plant, a microchip, and artificial intelligence; in the center, there is a small emblem of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation. The Print Run is 99 thousand stamps.
The postage stamps devoted to heroes of the intelligence service is display of respect and a tribute to their feats and merits. The common features of all these people are great courage, honor, a sense of duty and endless bravery, as well as willingness to commit a heroic deed in the name of their people and Motherland. The daily work of these people is destined for the protection of the security of society and the state from external threats. Great deeds of intelligence officers will forever remain in the memory of their relatives, comrades-in-arms and friends, and will be inscribed in the history of philately of the Russian Federation.
Commemorative sets with cancelled postage stamps were presented to J. Grigulevich's daughter, Nadezhda Grigulevich, A. Korotkov's daughter, Yulia Korotkova, N. Troyan's son, Alexei Koroteev, and P. Fitin's son, Vladimir Fitin.
The postage stamps were put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.
