The ceremony was attended by Vladimir Medinsky, an Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society, the First Secretary of the Union of Writers of Russia; and Evgeny Ivanov, a State Secretary and a Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. The event was held at the State Historical Museum as part of the opening of The Guardian of Ambassadors Affairs exhibition presentation, dedicated to the perpetuation of the memory of the heads of the Russian foreign service of different eras.
A. Matveev was a diplomat, a military commander and an educator; he played an important role in strengthening the Russian state and retrieving Little Russia. Matveev was an associate of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich Romanov, the father of Peter I; he made a significant contribution to the formation of the Russian theater and the development of pharmacy.
Starting from 2020, JSC Marka has been annually issuing postage stamps in the History of Russian Diplomacy series as a tribute to diplomats for their work for the benefit of the state. The postage stamps were put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain. The Print Run is 42 thousand stamps.
Traditionally, issues of the state valuable postal matter of the Russian Federation are timed to landmark historical events, or are dedicated to celebrated personalities nation-wide projects and major backbone enterprises of the Russian economy.
