The event was attended by Boris Tashimov, a Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation; and Alexey Raikevich, the Director General of JSC GLONASS. The officiall cancellation ceremony was held in the framework of the XIX International Forum and Exhibition Transport of Russia.
The ERA-GLONASS State Automated Information System is a federal state geographically distributed automated information system for emergency response in case of accidents, which ensures prompt receipt, on the basis of the use of signals from the global navigation satellite system of the Russian Federation, of information about road traffic and other accidents on highways in the Russian Federation, processing of this information, its storage and transmission to emergency response services, as well as providing access to this information. It was established in 2015 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Over 10 years of operation, ERA-GLONASS has proven in practice that a digital system combining navigation, telecommunication and information technologies helps save thousands of lives of drivers and passengers in road accidents and improve the safety of millions of people. Today, the development of transport monitoring services, drone identification in all environments, and high-precision navigation is in progress on the basis of ERA-GLONASS. The system has become a digital platform for solving large-scale problems in the interests of people, business and the state," the Deputy Minister said.
"We are grateful for the recognition of the effectiveness of ERA-GLONASS and are working on the improvement of the system for the formation of technological and navigation sovereignty of Russia. 13 million connected cars, more than 520 thousand emergency calls transmitted to emergency services in an average of 19 seconds is the statistics confirming the effective performance of the most important social function for us to save drivers and passengers in an accident. Today, ERA-GLONASS is becoming a digital platform that helps Russian businesses and the government accelerate the development of logistics and unmanned vehicles," concluded Alexey Raikevich.
The illustrated pre-stamped envelope provides an image of the ERA GLONASS logo against the background of a digital map of the Russian Federation. The Print Run of the illustrated pre-stamped envelope is 500 thousand items.
The envelopes have already gone on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.
