The basic principles of the activity and the structure of the United Nations Organization (UNO) were developed during World War II by members of the anti-Hitler coalition. The name “United Nations” was first used in the Declaration of the United Nations, signed on January 1 of 1942. The UN Charter was approved at the San Francisco Conference in April of 1945 and signed on June 26 of 1945 by representatives of 50 states. The United Nations is an international organization created to maintain and strengthen international security and promote cooperation between states. The UN is considered a universal forum with special legitimacy, the backbone of the international collective security system, and the basic element of modern diplomacy. The official languages of the UN and its organizations are English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and French. The UN headquarters is located in New York. The UNO is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In 2001, the prize was awarded jointly to the UN and its Secretary-General Kofi Annan “for their work for a better organized and more peaceful world”. In 1988, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the UN Peacekeeping Forces.

The illustrated pre-stamped envelope features the logo and anniversary symbols of the United Nations. The Print Run of the illustrated pre-stamped envelope is 500 thousand items.
