The Art of a Stamp exhibition of paintings and postal miniatures will be on display at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation until October 10. This is a unique joint project of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Union of Artists of Russia, the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Moscow Union of Artists and Joint-Stock Company Marka, which is a combined exposition of paintings, graphics and postage stamps.
The opening ceremony was attended by Inna Svyatenko, a Deputy Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and Veronika Maksimenko, the Director General of JSC Marka.
The philatelic section is represented by a collection of Russian postage stamps dedicated to the historical and cultural heritage of the country, its architectural monuments, painters and cultural figures, decorative and applied arts, as well as the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The exhibition offers an opportunity to see pieces of art by members of art associations whose works were featured on postage stamps of the Contemporary Art of Russia series: People's Artists of the Russian Federation Nikolai Borovskiy, Viktor Glukhov, Evgeny Romashko, Honored Artists of the Russian Federation Nikolai Plastov, Andrey Dubov, and others.
The exhibition also features artworks by Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Nikolai Gorsky-Chernyshev, and by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Pyotr Groshev. Besides, part of the exhibition space is taken up by paintings by artists from JSC Marka, members of the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, Olga Savina and Sergei Ulyanovsky.
