On September 26, a postage stamp dedicated to the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland was put into postal circulation

For the purpose to preserve historical memory, commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, express gratitude to veterans, and recognize the heroic deed of participants in the Special Military Operation, the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation declared the year of 2025 the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.

This year pays tribute to the military exploits of all those who fought for their homeland in different historical eras, as well as to the heroes of today - the participants in the Special Military Operation. The theme of the year is reflective of the priorities of modern Russia, in particular, patriotism, continuity of generations, and respect for the defenders of the homeland throughout history.

The Year of the Defender of the Fatherland in 2025 is a symbol of national unity and patriotism. This is an expression of deep gratitude to those who defended and continue to defend the sovereignty and security of our country. This year reminds us of the importance of historical memory and the enduring value of peace, which our defenders of the Fatherland defend with their courage and selflessness.

The postage stamp provides images of a 13th-century knight, an infantryman from the Patriotic War of 1812, a soldier from the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, and a serviceman of today.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamp, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Penza, Kaliningrad, Petrozavodsk and Orel, as well as a maxi-card.
