The event was attended by Alexander Shchetinin, the Director of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; Alejandro Arias Zarzuela, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic to the Russian Federation; Marina Zakharenko, the Director General of the Rudomino All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature; and Veronika Maksimenkova, the Director General of JSC Marka. The cancellation ceremony was held as part of the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Dominican Republic.
The postage stamps provide images of Russian folk dolls Girls and a Violinist (Kursk Region, created by Ekaterina Chernook) and the national symbol of the Dominican Republic doll Lime (created by Mario Emilio Adams Diaz). The Design Artist is Khania Betredinova. The Print Run is 96 thousand each stamp.
On July 22, 2025, the postage stamps were put into postal circulation in the Decorative and Applied Arts series in the framework of the Joint Issue of the Russian Federation and the Dominican Republic and went on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain.
A joint issue means the simultaneous issuance by post offices in two or more countries of postage stamps or other philatelic material sharing a common theme and with an identical pattern. This joint issue reflects the cultural traditions of the two countries and the development of bilateral cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and the Dominican Republic in 1945. Joint-Stock Company Marka has contributed to the confirmation of these friendly relations by issuing postage stamps.
