On May 21, an official ceremony took place of cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to the 125th Birth Anniversary of Marshal of the Soviet Union Vasily Chuikov

The event was attended by Alexandra Ochirova, a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, a member of the State Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, a Co-Chair of the General Council of the Eurasia and Africa Peoples’ Assembly; Lieutenant General Valery Ochirov, a Hero of the Soviet Union, an Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation; Natalia Koneva, a philologist, a public figure, a professor, the President of the Victory Leaders Memorial Foundation, a daughter of Marshal of the Soviet Union I. Konev; Ivan Bagramyan, an international economist, a grandson of a twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union I. Bagramyan; and Nikolai Chuikov, the President of the Marshal V. Chuikov Foundation for the Preservation of Historical Memory, a grandson of twice Hero of the Soviet Union Marshal of the Soviet Union V. Chuikov.

Vasily Chuikov (1900–1982) was a Soviet military commander, a Marshal of the Soviet Union (1955), a Twice Hero of the Soviet Union (1944, 1945). During the Great Patriotic War, in the autumn of 1942, V. Chuikov was entrusted with the command of the 62nd Guards (8th Guards) Army, which particularly distinguished itself in the Battle of Stalingrad. Owing to V. Chuikov, assault groups were introduced, which could move swiftly and hit hard at the most unexpected moment. With his soldiers, V. Chuikov participated in dozens of key operations: in Belarus, in the Donbass, in the Vistula and Oder region. V. Chuikov was the Commander-in-Chief of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany (1949-1953), the Commander of the Kiev Military District (1953-1960), the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the USSR - a Deputy Minister of Defense of the USSR (1960-1964), the Head of the Civil Defense Forces of the USSR (1961-1972).

The postage stamp provides a portrait of Marshal of the Soviet Union Vasily Chuikov. The Print Run is 72 thousand stamps.

On April 24, 2025, the postage stamps were put into postal circulation in the Marshals of the Soviet Union series and went on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain.
