On December 9, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of postage stamps dedicated to Heroes of the Russian Federation, participants in the Special Military Operation

The event was held at the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora (Hill) in Moscow. The ceremony was attended by Alexander Sidyakin, the Head of the Central Executive Committee of the United Russia Party, a Deputy Secretary of the General Council of the Party, a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Dmitry Ugnivenko, a Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General of Internal Service Ilya Denisov, a Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters; and Major General Igor Sivakov, a Deputy Head of the Main Military-Political Department of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In the framework of today’s event, ten postage stamps were presented dedicated to military personnel, participants in the Special Military Operation, who were honored posthumously with the title of Hero of the Russian Federation:

Vladimir Frolov (1967-2022), a deputy commander of the 8th Combined Arms Army, Major General.

Alexei Katerinichev (1974-2022), the First Deputy Head of the Center for Search and Salvage Operations Leader of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, Colonel.

Alexander Aksyonov (1984-2022), a deputy commander of an Army Aviation Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel.

Ivan Pozdeev (1985-2022) the commander of a Parachute Infantry Regiment, Guards Lieutenant Colonel.

Andrei Ivanov (1989-2022), the commander of an Airborne Assault Company of the Marine Infantry Brigade of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy, Captain.

Andrei Kovtun (1996-2022), the commander of a Motorized Rifle Company, Guards Senior Lieutenant.

Shamil Magomedov (1997-2022) the commander of a Motorized Rifle Platoon, Guards Senior Lieutenant.

Igor Nasibullin (1995-2022), the commander of a Tank Company, Guards Senior Lieutenant.

Nikita Gusev (1996-2022), a deputy commander of a Special Operations Group, Warrant Officer.

Alexander Vlasenkov (1998-2022), a scout-sniper of a Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Coastal Troops of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy, Private 1st Class.

The postage stamps provide portraits of the Heroes of the Russian Federation, battle scenes and the Gold Star Medal. The Print Run is 45 thousand each stamp. Artists: Vladimir Beltyukov and Maksim Podobed.

Starting with 2012, JSC Marka has been annually issuing the Heroes of the Russian Federation series of postage stamps as a tribute and a token of gratitude to Russian soldiers and officers. The common features of all those whom the issues of the series are devoted to are great courage, honor, a sense of duty and the infinite bravery that led them to perform a feat in the name of their people and Fatherland. The deeds of the Heroes of the Russian Federation will forever remain in the memory of their families, relatives, comrades-in-arms and friends and will be inscribed in the history of philately of the Russian Federation.

Today, the postage stamps were put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.
