The event was attended by General of Justice of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation; Lieutenant General of Justice Anatoly Sazonov, the Head of the Main Department of Criminalistics (Forensic Center) of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation; and Dmitry Ugnivenko, a Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
On October 19, 1954, the Decree of the Procurator General of the USSR No 3/195 approved the Instruction About work of the prosecutor-criminalist; the same date launched the beginning of the history of the forensic service.
Today, the forensic units of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continue the traditions that have been carried on for decades by veterans of the forensic service, performing their official duty in incredibly severe and frequently life-threatening conditions.
At a high professional level, they provide prompt and high-quality assistance in solving crimes, including those committed in the past years, develop new techniques and improve the tactics of investigation of various categories of crimes, actively introducing up-to-date achievements of science and technology in the activities of investigative bodies.
The postage stamp provides an image of the emblem of the Forensic Center of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. The face value of the postage stamp is 70 rubles; the Print Run is 54 thousand stamps.
On October 17, 2024, the postage stamp was put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.
