The event was attended by Roman Starovoit, the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, and Alexander Klimov, the Rector of the Russian University of Transport.
Vladimir Obraztsov (1874-1949) was a Russian and Soviet transport scientist; a Winner of two Stalin Prizes (1942, 1943); an Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR since 1939; the Director General of Traffic of the first rank. The major scientific papers by V. Obraztsov are devoted to the problems of designing railroad stations and junctions, organization of planning of classification work on the railroad network, as well as to the issues of interaction of railroad services and different types of transport between themselves. He was granted two Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, three Orders of Lenin, the Order of the Red Star and other awards.
The envelope provides a portrait of Vladimir Obraztsov against the background of spreader ditchers for unloading a platform with Mazul-mine ore and limestone. The Print Run of the illustrated pre-stamped envelope is 500 thousand copies.
The envelopes went on sale in post offices and the Collectioner show room chain.
