On September 25, for the 200th Anniversary of the Stroganov Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts, four postage stamps dedicated to artworks by classics of the Stroganov School were put into postal circulation



The year of 2025 will mark the 200th Anniversary of the foundation of the Stroganov Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts. More than one generation of outstanding creative personalities was fostered within the walls of this educational institution; famous painters and sculptors used to give classes at the University.

Andrei Kovalchuk is a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of Russia, an Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts. He is a professor, the Head of the Department of Academic Sculpture at the Stroganov Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts; a member of the Presidential Council for Culture and Art of the Russian Federation. For several decades, A. Kovalchuk has been one of the recognized and high in demand Russian masters.

Sergey Kurasov is a Russian painter, an Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation. He is an Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation (2012), a Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. In 1995, he graduated from the Moscow State Stroganov University of Industrial and Applied Arts. Since 2011, he has been the Rector of the Stroganov Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts.

Evgeny Romashko is a Russian painter, a graphic artist, an Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2009, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2012). Since 2011, E. Romashko is the Head of the Department of Academic Painting of the Moscow State Stroganov University of Industrial and Applied Arts. His artworks are available in museums and private collections in Russia and foreign countries.

Nikolai Ivanov is a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, an Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Board and the Chairman of the Art Council of the Moscow Branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, a Full Member of the International Academy of Creativity. N. Ivanov is a sculptor, a Professor of the Moscow State Stroganov University of Industrial and Applied Arts.

The postage stamps provide images of:
— monument to Emperor Alexander III of Russia (2017) in Yalta (2017) by A. Kovalchuk;
— painting Sailing Regatta (2000) by S. Kurasov;
— painting Warm August. Pereslavl-Zalessky (2017) by E. Romashko;
— monument to Leo Tolstoy (2019) by N. Ivanov in Moscow.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and a special cancel for Moscow.
