The event was held in the Church of the Nativity of Christ in the Complex of Frater Chambers of the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery. The ceremony was attended by Viktor Zubkov, the Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Board of the Charity Fund for the Restoration of the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery; Metropolitan Theognost of Kashira, a Vicar of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia; Archimandrite Feofilakt, a Father Superior of the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery and a Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Charity Fund; Anton Privezentsev, the Director of the Department for the Development of New Telecommunication Services of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media; and other persons who made a great contribution to the restoration and development of the Monastery.
Today, the Resurrection New Jerusalem Stavropigial Monastery became the embodiment of the Patriarch Nikon's cherished wish to create in Russia a likeliness of the Holy Land - Russian New Palestine with the Resurrection Cathedral predominating over everything, which would reconstitute in detail the Jerusalem sacred place - the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre. On May 8 of 2016, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill performed the rite of the great consecration of the Resurrection Cathedral of the New Jerusalem Monastery. Nowadays, the Monastery is a well-known pilgrimage center.
