On August 9, six stamps dedicated to cities of Labor Valor were put into postal circulation



A City of Labor Valor is an honorary title of the Russian Federation, instituted by the Federal Law of March 1, 2020, “in order to commemorate the feat of home front workers during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”. It is granted to the cities of the Russian Federation, whose residents "made a significant contribution to the achievement of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 by providing uninterrupted production of military and civilian products at industrial enterprises, located in the city, and demonstrated massive labor heroism and selflessness”.

The postage stamps provide images of:

— monument to home front workers of the Kostroma Region during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in Kostroma (sculptor V. Tserkovnikov);
— monument to home front workers during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in Vologda (sculptor А. Apollonov);
— monument to home front workers in Dzerzhinsk of the Nizhny Novgorod Region (sculptor A. Shchitov, architect I. Sokolova);
— monument to home front workers and war children in Ulan-Ude (sculptor А. Chebanenko);
— monument to factory workers - participants in the Great Patriotic War and home front workers in Podolsk, Moscow Region (copyright holder of JSC “ZiO-Podolsk”, sculptor E. Elagina);
— monument to Trans-Baikal railway workers of in Chita for their contribution to the Great Victory.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, Vologda, Dzerzhinsk of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Kostroma, Podolsk of the Moscow Region, Ulan-Ude and Chita.
