On April 12, a ceremony took place of cancellation of an illustrated pre-stamped envelope dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Treaty on Amity between the Russian Federation and the Lao People's Democratic Republic

The event was attended by Andrey Denisov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; and Ms Vilavan Yiapohe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to the Russian Federation.

The Treaty on Amity between the two countries was signed on March 9, 1994. The document is intended to develop traditional friendly relations and to strengthen mutual trust and versatile co-operation between the peoples of the two countries. At present, Russian-Lao relations are notable for a high level of trust and mutual support. Our country has made a significant contribution to the establishment of the Lao statehood after Laos gained independence, as well as to the social and economic development of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. Significant events of recent date involve positive co-operation in the political and diplomatic, commercial, economic, military-technical fields, as well as high-level scientific, cultural and educational exchanges and conducting humanitarian activities.

The illustrated pre-stamped envelope provides images of the national flags of the Russian Federation and the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The Print Run is 500 thousand envelopes. On March 29, 2024, the illustrated pre-stamped envelope went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.
