On April 18, two stamps dedicated to Vladimir Lastochkin and Mikhail Nemytkin were put into postal circulation in the Heroes of the Russian Federation series



Vladimir Lastochkin (1959-1995) was a criminal investigator of a special rapid response department of the Main Department for Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, a major of police.

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of August 1, 1996, Major Vladimir Lastochkin was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously) for courage and heroism displayed on the performance of a special mission.

The postage stamp provides a portrait of Hero of the Russian Federation V. Lastochkin, a combat scene and the Gold Star medal.



Mikhail Nemytkin (1970–1995) was a Deputy Commander of a Group of the Rosich Special Purpose Detachment of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, a senior lieutenant.

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of October 1, 1996, Senior Lieutenant Mikhail Nemytkin was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously) for courage and heroism displayed on the performance of a special mission.

The postage stamp provides a portrait of Hero of the Russian Federation M. Nemytkin, a combat scene and the Gold Star medal.

In addition to the issue of the postage stamps, JSC Marka produced First Day Covers and special cancels for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Kaliningrad and Novosibirsk.
