On December 12, a ceremony took place of special cancellation of a postage stamp dedicated to Yuri Luzhkov, a political and public figure

The event was attended by Elena Baturina, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Yuri Luzhkov Foundation; Sergey Stepashin, the Chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society; Vladimir Urin, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Yuri Luzhkov Foundation, an Honored Artist of the Russian Federation; and Mikhail Shmakov, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Yuri Luzhkov Foundation and the Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia.

The postage stamp provides a portrait of Yuri Luzhkov and an image of the Order For Merit to the Fatherland.

The face value of the postage stamp is 50 rubles; the Print Run is 98 thousand stamps. The design is by Design Artists Olga Savina and Ivan Ulyanovsky.

On December 8, 2023, the postage stamp was put into postal circulation in the “Cavaliers of Order For Merit to the Fatherland” series and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.

Traditionally, issues of the state valuable postal matter are timed to remarkable dates and events in the history of our country, or are dedicated to celebrated personalities. The “Cavaliers of Order For Merit to the Fatherland” series has been in production since 2012; the series includes postal miniatures in honor of outstanding figures who made a significant contribution to the development of our country.
