On December 9, an official ceremony took place of special cancellation of postage stamps, dedicated to Heroes of the Russian Federation, participants in the special military operation

The event took place in the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. The ceremony was attended by Alexander Khinstein, the Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, a coordinator of the Historical Memory Party federal project; Konstantin Mogilevsky, a Co-Chairman of the Russian Historical Society, a Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Dmitry Ugnivenko, a Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation; Colonel General Viktor Goremykin, a Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation - the Head of the Main Military and Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation; Lieutenant General Alexey Vorobyov, a Deputy Director of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation - the Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation; and Anna Tsivilyova, the Chairman of the Defenders of the Fatherland State Fund to Support Participants in the Special Military Operation.

In the framework of today’s event, ten stamps were presented that are dedicated to members of the Armed Forces, participants in the special military operation, who were honored posthumously with the title of Hero of the Russian Federation:

Sergey Sukharev (1981–2022), a commander of an Airborne Assault Regiment, a Guards Colonel;

Vadim Gerasimov (1985-2022), the commander of a motorized rifle battalion, a Guards Lieutenant Colonel;

Aleksey Kalmykov (1988-2022), a deputy commander of the Special Forces Detachment, a Major;

Aleksandr Zhikharev (1993-2022), the commander of a Special Forces Company, a Captain;

Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov (1996-2022), the company commander of the Airborne Assault Regiment, a Guards Senior Lieutenant;

Vladimir Zozulin (1991-2022), the commander of a Reconnaissance Company of the Airborne Regiment, a Guards Senior Lieutenant;

Denis Zorin (1991-2022), the commander of an Antitank Platoon, a Guards Senior Lieutenant;

Aleksandr Potapov (1989-2022), an officer of the Vityaz special-purpose center of the Rosgvardia Independent Operational Division, a Senior Lieutenant;

Boris Zhuravlev (1979-2022), a deputy commander of a Special Forces Group, a Guards Sergeant-Major;

Eduard Dyakonov (2001-2022), a Senior Radio Reconnaissance Officer of a Special Forces Company, a Guards Private.

The postage stamps provide portraits of the Heroes of the Russian Federation, battle scenes and the Gold Star Medal. The Print Run is 60 thousand each stamp. Artists: Vladimir Beltyukov, Maksim Podobed, Roman Komsa and Ivan Ulyanovsky.

Starting with 2012, JSC Marka has been annually issuing the Heroes of the Russian Federation series of postage stamps as a tribute and a token of gratitude to Russian soldiers and officers for the accomplished feats. The common features of all those whom the issues of the series are devoted to are great courage, honor, a sense of duty and the infinite bravery that led them to perform a feat in the name of their people and Fatherland. The deeds of the Heroes of the Russian Federation will forever remain in the memory of their relatives, comrades-in-arms and friends and will be inscribed in the history of philately of the Russian Federation.

Today, the postage stamps were put into postal circulation and went on sale in post offices throughout the country and the Collectioner show room chain.
