The Deposit Insurance System is constantly developing. Over the years of its activities, the amount of insurance indemnity has increased 14-fold, the composition of insurance objects has expanded, and the forms of interaction with depositors have improved. Today, protection of deposits is provided to individuals, individual entrepreneurs, small businesses and a number of non-profit organizations of social orientation. Thus, the role of the insurance system is not limited to fulfilment of only a social function of protection of depositors' rights. It is also directly related to a broader economic task of attracting investments for Russia development, preserving the stability of the financial and banking system of the country.
